Elon Musk needs no introduction. As the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, X, and Neuralink, Musk has redefined industries ranging from electric vehicles and space exploration to brain-computer interfaces. Musk’s AI startup, xAI, is quickly becoming a formidable competitor to OpenAI. The company recently launched Grok-2, its latest model with image generation capabilities that operates without filters or censorship.
xAI also made headlines with the launch of Colossus, an AI supercomputer that Musk calls ‘the most powerful AI training system in the world’. Powered by NVIDIA’s H100 GPUs, Colossus is set to dramatically accelerate xAI’s research. Musk shared that the supercomputer went live over a weekend, with the entire setup completed in just 122 days.
