Cybersecurity company Rapid7 (NASDAQ: RPD) has announced the launch of a new global capability centre (GCC) in Pune, as part of its global expansion plans. The Pune centre is slated to open in April and will serve as both an innovation hub and a security operations centre (SOC), helping the company offer round-the-clock security services to its customers around the world.
The Pune GCC will focus on product and service innovation in cybersecurity. It will also work to develop local cybersecurity talent and collaborate with other businesses and academic institutions on artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
“Expanding into India is a critical step in accelerating Rapid7’s investments in security operations leadership and customer-centric innovation,” said Corey Thomas, chairman and CEO of Rapid7.
He further mentioned that establishing a SOC in Pune enhances the company’s ability to scale threat detection and response globally while connecting exceptional technical talent in the region to impactful career opportunities.
“Rapid7 is known for its high-performing teams that challenge boundaries and embrace rapid technological change, from generative AI and machine learning to cutting-edge security,” Swami Nathan, Rapid7’s country manager for India, said.
The company is also planning several in-person events to engage with government officials, educators, and local talent.
