ServiceNow Appoints Ganesh Lakshminarayanan as India MD and Group VP

ServiceNow, a leading digital workflow company, has named Ganesh Lakshminarayanan as its new managing director and group vice president for India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region. His appointment will take effect on January 6, 2025.

Ganesh brings extensive leadership experience to ServiceNow, having previously served as the CEO of Airtel’s domestic B2B business and as President and MD of Dell India. 

“India remains a key priority for ServiceNow, and Ganesh’s expertise and leadership will further enhance our ability to deliver value to our customers in this dynamic market,” said Detlef Krause, President of APAC, ServiceNow. 

Commenting on his appointment, Ganesh said, “India is a critical market for ServiceNow, and I’m excited to lead the team through its next chapter of growth, driving innovation and delivering transformative results for our customers.”

Based in Bengaluru, Ganesh will oversee ServiceNow’s business operations in India and the SAARC region. India accounts for over 20% of ServiceNow’s global workforce, with one-third of its engineers based in the country. 

Additionally, more than 40% of the company’s global product engineering is conducted in India, highlighting the nation’s significant role in ServiceNow’s innovation and technology efforts.

Three years ago, ServiceNow acquired Element AI, which laid the foundation for its advancements in LLMs. In an interview with AIM, Mathur explained that their GenAI offerings are persona-focused, offering tailored solutions for employees, agents, and developers.
Recently, ServiceNow has unveiled a range of new features in its latest Now Platform update, named Xanadu. Among these innovations are ServiceNow AI Agents, designed to enhance productivity around the clock across departments, including IT, customer service, HR, and procurement.
