Chander Prakash Gurnani, aka CP Gurnani, is the classic techno-optimist. After starting Project Indus at Tech Mahindra as the CEO and managing director, he went on to build his own venture AIonOS after having served 19 years at Tech Mahindra. Proving OpenAI chief Sam Altman wrong, Gurnani’s Project Indus eventually released its own LLM in under $5 million, which was a win on his “Challenge Accepted” reply to Altman.
“I can only say there is no human being, including you, who is not working on generative AI.” It is with this motivation that Gurnani has been building AI agents at his startup for enterprises.
After completing his stints at HCL, Hewlett-Packard, and Perot System, Gurnani led one of the most complex mergers in India’s corporate history—the integration of Satyam Computers after its massive accounting scandal in 2009.
