Annapurna Vishwanathan has been appointed the new vice president and head of information management and digital for India and South Asia at Airbus. Vishwanathan, who brings nearly two decades of experience in technology management, software development, and digital transformation, has played a key role in modernising technology at companies like Cummins India and GE Digital.
Under her leadership, Cummins India, a leading Fortune 500 company, underwent a major digital transformation to fully digitise operations and components.
As per reports, in her new role at Airbus, Vishwanathan will manage the IT frameworks that support business functions and operations.
Before joining Airbus, she led digital initiatives at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) India, where she served as a digital manager for over two years.
Her career includes over 10 years at GE Digital, where she was a key member of the digital business leadership team in India and helped establish the company’s digital hub. Here, she worked closely with global IT leaders to explore outsourcing opportunities and develop them within the Indian hub.
Vishwanathan graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and holds a Six Sigma certification. She has been recognised as “CIO of the year” in industrial manufacturing and as a “leading CIO” by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Meanwhile, Airbus Ventures, the investment arm of Airbus, has announced a new investment in Featherless.ai, a company known for its innovative serverless AI platform. Featherless.ai has developed technology that improves the use of GPUs, reduces costly downtime, and cuts operational expenses, making AI services more affordable.
