Leading a $3 billion AI investment, CEO Julie Sweet is positioning Accenture at the forefront of AI. Announced in 2023, the investment aims to double the company’s AI-focused workforce to 80,000 employees, propelling Accenture to generate more revenue from generative AI than all VC-backed AI startups combined.
For fiscal year 2024, Accenture has already secured $2 billion in AI bookings, with $900 million coming from generative AI in Q3 alone.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sweet doubled down on Accenture’s ambitious plans, vowing to invest $1 billion annually to upskill its team in generative AI. That’s not all, Sweet is also on a mission to champion responsible AI. Accenture has just named its first chief responsible AI officer and is boosting its offerings in responsible AI advisory and tech services, making it clear that it’s not just talking the talk but walking the walk when it comes to ethical AI practices.
